outside in the cold
still light for
a few more minutes
two days until
daylight increases
again slowly
one or two minutes
a day until warm
weather returns
at last puffin’ tough
even when it’s cold enough
to freeze the breath
mustache frozen
fingertips numb
time for a shower
to thaw out for the night...
