an extra day
probably spend it
recording thoughts
wondering how many
leap years have I written on
only lived through
ten until tomorrow
an extra day
probably work early
home by early afternoon
who else is going to stare at the sky
and wonder what all the rest
might be thinking about
especially when they say nothing
always something can't be nothing
when given an extra day
and only half of it busy
to make the living as they
say we all need to do to survive
there is a better way
and maybe it will come to me
on the extra day...
