not what was expected

everywhere gone been rejected
and if accepted then neglected
only to die hoping to be resurrected
new thoughts and seeds to grow
rise above it all thoughts down below
got to be mine won’t beg steal or borrow
if not today I will find them tomorrow
and if not life becomes the search for truth
lost some faith need more proof
under the floor and up on the roof
can’t bite the apple with a broken tooth
or collect water in a bucket with a hole
walking though the fire survival is the goal
standing strong like a fierce totem pole
want to fly freedom’s flag but that’s just what got stole
and it’s said to be for our protection
if you can’t see that take a pill make the correction
someday thoughts like this will get you to the house of correction
