probably not going
to make it
just can’t wait
any longer
as tiredness pulls
on the eyelids
but the mind is still going
want to watch the fullish
moon dance across the sky
sometimes the sounds
of a silent night are confusing
not easily proven what sounds
could actually be and
the eyelids still heavy
and moving downward
somehow still pushing
through another cloud
if I give it another five minutes
the bright circle in the sky
will emerge from behind the trees
and stray clouds moving quick
at the same time and in clear view
still awake appreciating
the true mystery…
