thinking in the rain

the change, to take a chance
wondering when
and making it the right now
and on and on
not at all mundane
everyday is the adventure
the mist on the umbrella above
drips water just out of reach
fortunate for these pages
somehow staying dry although
wet with fresh thought
for this Sunday night
first night was really an afternoon spent
overlooking the pond
down the winding road
couldn't believe
the would-be passenger
so many thoughts raced that day
that was a cross roads changing this course
right in time unbelievable the chance given
after so much time solitary
not confined just left alone
then noticed under fluorescent lights
in the public eye undeniable
before two even knew the state that they were in
as if in a trance pulling two worlds
together magnetized
the chance to take that chance
to change everything for love and life
a puzzle but not one that makes sense
no logic timing and things couldn't have
happened any other way
were meant to be here
the vegetation all around
that no one remembers planting
and this love grows everyday...
